Aims & Objectives

With the growth of information technology in modern times, media art penetrates into our everyday life through a variety of means and channels. To cultivate a new generation of media artists of deep insight, the programme, on top of professional production techniques and artistic skills, particularly addresses the significance of illuminating individual creative conception. We anticipate that students, in pursuit of knowledge, would make different attempts, would explore innovative techniques throughout their learning and practicing process, and would bring together theory and concept in the context of media culture and digital technology.

Programme Structure

The programme consists of 78 credit units. Generic skills and theoretical studies mainly contribute towards the foundation modules of the programme. Depending on individual talents and interest, students can choose from the three major streams stemmed from the programme, namely, Computer Animation, Digital Video & Cinema and Multimedia Art. The progrmame offers students an all-rounded creative realm, which helps enrich students’ experience along their professional development and helps enhance students’ overall competitive awareness.

Mode & Duration of Study Full-time: 2 Years (Classes are held during day-time.)
Part-time: 3 Years (Classes are conducted on evenings or occasionally during weekends.)
Medium of Delivery The medium of instruction will be Cantonese supplemented with English.
Learning materials will be in Chinese and English as appropriate.
Admission Requirements
Holder of Certificate in Visual Art or Foundation Diploma in Visual Art from Hong Kong Art School or equivalent; or
Holder of Certificate or Diploma in Computer Animation from Hong Kong Art School or equivalent; or
Mature student at age 21 or above with substantial relevant experience.
(Applicants are required to present their portfolios during the interview.)
Annual Tuition Fee Full-time - HK$ 40,560(subject to review)
Part-time - HK$ 27,040 (subject to review)
