Art Annex

This is a showcase specially presented by Hong Kong Art School (HKAS, a division of Hong Kong Arts Centre) and the Joint Publishing (H.K.) in the summer of 2016. It can be regarded as an extension of the HKAS annual Art Fair.  It provides the public with an exclusive opportunity to view and collect authentic ceramic artworks handmade by students and alumni of HKAS.

Taking place at the Wan Chai branch of Joint Publishing (H.K.), the showcase sets out to enhance public awareness towards art and culture, encourage public to incorporate art into their everyday life, and enrich public sensitivity towards locally hand-made art objects.

Handmade Ceramic Functional Wares are the key items of showcasing this time.

Open Sharing with the Ceramicists: on the making of handmade ceramic wares
Moderator: Ms. Fiona Wong  

This is a sharing session held in conjunction with the showcase. Hosted and led by Ms. Fiona Wong, the School's Senior Lecturer and Subject Coordinator (Specialty: Ceramics) and a renowned ceramicist in Hong Kong, the participating artists (student / alumnus from the School) are going to share with the audiences their reflections on hand-making ceramics, including the ideas, rationales and creative process behind their works.

A valuable opportunity to further our understanding by identifying more angles to appreciate the participating artists' works, and getting to know more about their journey of ceramics making. Surely you would not want to miss this exclusive chance!
