
COURSE FEATURES
Art and Mindfulness are interdisciplinary fields that can enhance and compliment with each other. Representation such as drawing or writing can be used in conjunction with mindfulness to enhance or access self-knowledge. This course focuses on the exploration of the potential relationship between mindfulness and representation and will introduce to participants ways of mindfulness practices through creative drawing, writing and body awareness exercises.
* Students need to prepare coloured pencils, ballpoint pen and paper.

Janine CLAASE
Janine CLAASE is a South-African artist who graduated from Hong Kong Art School with distinction in Bachelor of Fine Arts (Photography) in 2019. During her undergraduate studies, she received the ‘Reaching Out Award’ and ‘Outstanding Performance Scholarship’. Her daily art practice involves reading and writing, creating mixed-media artworks and exploring photography as a medium. Besides these, Janine enjoys pursuing a wide range of interests from meditation to creating her own music. Her educational background reflects a similar interest in topics like photography, therapeutic art, psychology, mindfulness and exploring creative tools for self-development. She has experience in fashion, teaching, video/image/sound production, as well as art. Some of her past group exhibitions include Fresh Trend ‘15 (Hong Kong City Hall, 2019), The HKAS Graduates Exhibition (Pao Galleries, 2019), and Somewhere Out There (Gallery by The Harbour, 2018).
