Arts for its Public: How Arts Make a City Energetic

COURSE FEATURES
When more art happens in our city, the art is deserved not only to decorate but also serves as a vehicle for social memory or purpose. This course would introduce the variety of public art projects (e.g. public monument, community art and festival) organised locally and internationally. In the class, particiapants would examine how such projects offer both cultural value and social purpose for a community or city.

LEUNG Chin Fung, Jeff, is an independent curator and part-time lecturer at local universities. Jeff graduated in fine arts and earned his Master of Arts in Practical Philosophy. To promote Hong Kong art, he is engaged on curating exhibitions about Hong Kong Art in diverse formats. For contributing to local art community, Jeff is a member of International Association of Art Critics Hong Kong and serving as Assessor / Examiner (Visual Art) of Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
