Nature is the source of life, and she provides our needs for living. She is also the source of inspiration and material support for us to create daily tools as well as artworks. With using natural materials to create, it is a way of rethinking our relationship with Nature meanwhile a praise to her. In this course, tutor will introduce several kinds of natural materials, and teaches skills and techniques to transformer them into medium to create 2 and 3D works. During the course, students will learn paper making, plants pounding dye, soil paint, hand carve chopsticks etc. The source is designed to provide a board entry experience of art making with natural material and various hand craft techniques.

HAO Lap Yan Benjamin
Benjamin HAO was born and is based in Hong Kong. He was graduated from Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) (co-presented by RMIT and Hong Kong Art School). He was awarded MFA Interdisciplinary Art Studies by University of Hartford in 2018. His art practice examines the relationship among human being, nature and society, and his artworks stimulate reflection and new imagination. His works and projects have been exhibited and taken place in Hong Kong, China, Macedonia, Iceland and U.S.A.
