EXPRESSIVE ARTS THERAPY EXPERIENTIAL WORKSHOP

COURSE FEATURES
Expressive arts therapy is a utilization of art creation process to achieve a psychological therapeutic effect and personal growth.  The art making process helps the participants to explore more about themselves and the inner needs they are looking for.

The course introduces the use of 5 different art forms (visual arts, movement, creative writing, music, drama) in expressive arts therapy (EXAT).  Through experiential learning, students will acquire the knowledge of how to achieve therapeutic effect through art creation, like releasing of stresses, exploring of one’s strengths and weaknesses, etc.  As EXAT focuses on the art making process instead of aesthetic appreciation of the created art works, students are not required to have any experience or previous education in art.
