Pinching Ceramics

COURSE FEATURES
Pinching, the most primitive techniques of human being used on ceramics, requires a precise mixed of clay’s humidity and hardness. Pinching ceramics are highly flexible in forms. Participants of the 8-class course will be learning the basic pinching, clay-slab and clay-coil forming techniques to create his/her own unique artwork.

* Students must bring their own aprons to lessons.

Horace HON Siu Chung obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) from the joint programme by Hong Kong Art School and RMIT University. He is passionate in the study of cultural values ​​of the Hong Kong intangible cultural heritage of Guangcai (廣彩) to transform the art form into contemporary art, based on traditional elements. By exploring the relationship and possibilities of old and new cultures, he reinterprets the elements into his own unique style.
