The variety and form of art are diverse, and visual art alone is not easy to understand. To understand art, it is best to start with the two concepts of art and beauty. In a sense, the development of art is the evolution of these two concepts, and the evolution of these concepts is constrained by social conditions; This series attempts to explain the development of Western art in combination with aesthetics, art appreciation, social development, and art history, and also discusses the characteristics and functions of art from different eras, as well as the change of artists’ roles.
