COURSE FEATURES
It is said that culture is the soul of a city that underpinned by cultural policies. So what cultural policies do we have in Hong Kong? Are they just related to art and historic sites? How about other cities? Our course tutor Louis YU, the Director of Hong Kong Art School with over 30 years of arts management experience, has his own unique interpretation on culture. In his best-selling book “What Makes a City Cultural” he introduces the BEAM model to elaborate the relationship between cultures and cities through four facets which are: Belief and Value, Everyday Lifestyle, Arts and Creation, Memory.
In this 2-day 8-hour short course, you will be familiarized with the BEAM model to decipher the cultural policies in Hong Kong and other regions. We highly recommend this to cultural workers, or anyone interested in cultural policies.
