Exhibition Statement

In echo with the main exhibition at Tai Kwun, this satellite exhibition presents textual and visual aids illustrating the essence of six intangible cultural heritage items: Flower Board, Cheongsam, Shiwan Pottery, Seal Carving, Paper Crafting, and Guangcai . In support of the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Month, informative displays serve youth a greater insight into ICH, enabling them to relearn about traditional cultures in a new light, and empowering them to explore and investigate connections between traditional craftsmanship and innovative adaptations.

“Jockey Club ICH+ Innovative Heritage Education Programme” aims to promote, redefine and revitalise the ICH of Hong Kong with a holistic integration of education and innovation. It has been one of Hong Kong Art School’s largest public education programmes since 2018, with annual showcases held at art & cultural supporting sites including Sam Tung Uk Museum (2019), Hysan Place (2020), chi K11 art space (2021), Hong Kong Arts Centre (2022), and Jao Tsung-I Academy (2024).
