This course serves as a continuation of “Experiencing Cultural Theory Through Art”, “(Re-)experiencing Cultural Theory Through Art,” and “Enriching Cultural Theory with Art”. Nevertheless, no prior knowledge is needed. It keeps on discussing the relationship between art and theory with particular focus on the relationship to the other, i.e. what we do not know. Major cultural theorists are introduced. Photographs, architecture, film, video, painting, sculpture, poems, and essays are used throughout the course.

Dr. FONG Ho Yin
Dr. FONG Ho Yin teaches literary and cultural studies in various tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. He is writing a book tentatively entitled as Walking Everyday Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Taipei in Literary and Cultural Studies. He received a PhD degree in Comparative Literature at the University of Hong Kong in 2007.
